Classes offered: BLS (Basic Life Support): TheAHA’s new BLS Course has been updated to include science and education from the 2021 Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC. It teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in both prehospital and in-facility environments, with a focus on high-quality CPR and team dynamics. • The importance of high-quality CPR and its impact on survival • All of the steps of the Chain of Survival and apply the BLS concepts of the Chain of Survival • Recognize the signs of someone needing CPR • Perform high-quality CPR for adults, children and infants • The importance of early use of an AED and demonstrate its use • Provide effective ventilation's by using a barrier device • The importance of teams in multi-rescuer resuscitation and perform as an effective team member during multi-rescuer CPR • The technique for relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults and infants
CPR AED and First Aid: AHA’s Heartsaver courses are designed to prepare students to provide first aid, CPR, and use an AED in a safe, timely, and effective manner. Heartsaver Instructor-led training is conducted in a classroom setting and features group interaction and hands-on coaching and feedback from an AHA Instructor. Heartsaver blended learning courses include an online portion that can be completed either at work, home, or wherever students have Internet access. Upon successful completion of the online portion, students attend a hands-on skills session with an AHA Instructor.
The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Course: Heartsaver pediatric course is designed to meet the regulatory requirements for child care workers in all 50 U.S. states. It teaches child care providers and others to respond to illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. he course covers child/infant CPR, child/infant AED, child/infant choking, and pediatric first aid. Adult modules in CPR, AED and choking are optional. ACLS: (Advanced Cardiac Life Support):ACLS is an advanced, Instructor-led classroom course that highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care and immediate post-cardiac arrest care. It also covers airway management and related pharmacology. In this course, skills are taught in large, group sessions and small, group learning and testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented. Basic life support skills, including effective chest compression's, use of a bag-mask device, and use of an AED Recognition and early management of respiratory and cardiac arrest Recognition and early management of peri-arrest conditions such as symptomatic bradycardia Airway management Related pharmacology Management of ACS and stroke Effective communication as a member and leader of a resuscitation team
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support Training):The AHA’s PALS Course has been updated to reflect new science in the 2021 AHA Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC. This classroom, Instructor-led course uses a series of videos and simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation, and team dynamics. The goal of the PALS Course is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes. Blood Borne Pathogen:This classroom course teaches employees how to protect themselves and others from being exposed to blood or blood-containing materials. This course is designed to meet OSHA requirements for bloodborne pathogens training when paired with site-specific instruction. The Heartsaver BBP Course uses the PACT acronym (Protect, Act, Clean, Tell) and tagline, “Make a PACT, Know How to Act™,” to help students learn and easily recall bloodborne pathogens training. Students learn to: Protect themselves from blood or blood-containing materials. Act quickly and safely. Clean the area that has blood or blood-containing materials. Tell their supervisor about the incident
